In the final series of the season, the Owls finished their dominant spring with a series win over the University of Alabama at Birmingham in a very strong fashion.
Game one was a massive 16-5 victory for the Owls, with multiple key home runs, including a Grand Slam from Dylan Goldstein, and very strong pitching from the Owl’s bullpen. Overall, game one was a very clean and easy victory for the Owls, as they showed yet again how dominant their offense can be.
Game two was yet another win for the Owls, ensuring that they won their final series of the season, winning 8-3 against the Blazers. This game was determined very late, as the Blazers jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning. However, the Owl’s bullpen ensured that those were the only three runs scored in the entire game for the Blazers. This allowed the Owls to climb back, tying the game in the fourth, and not looking back, putting up five more runs before winning the game. This game ensured that no matter what, the regular season would end on a positive note, as they captured two out of their last three games.
Game three was unfortunately a rough 10-5 loss. The Blazers put up eight runs within the first two innings, and it was simply too big of a lead for the Owls to clib back from. Jackson Ross and Christian Adams each had a home run in the effort, and yet again, the Owls bullpen was strong.
Overall, it was a very strong series to end the season on, and the Owls now turn their focus to the conference tournament, where they will be playing Western Kentucky on Wednesday night.
