An unfamiliar script led FAU to its second-consecutive loss in Oregon.

The Owls struck quickly, scoring two runs in the top of the first, but their pitching couldn’t hold off the Ducks hitters in a 10-4 loss Monday night.

FAU lost three of four games at Oregon, falling to 8-4 on the season.

Tyler Frank led off the game with a double and scored one batter later on Joe Montes’ triple. Montes scored on Pedro Pages ground-out to second, giving the Owls a 2-0 lead before the Ducks even came to bat.

FAU starter Nick Prather cruised through the first four innings but couldn’t get out of the fifth, when the Ducks touched the Owls for five runs.

The Owls trimmed the lead to 5-4 with on Cody Wilson’s RBI ground-out in the sixth and Kevin Abraham’s RBI ground-out in the seventh.

Oregon, however, put the game out of reach with three runs in the bottom of the seventh and two more in the eighth.
