The Big Man

FAU defensive tackle Shalom Ogbonda recently played in his final game at FAU.

He’ll leave the Owls with NFL aspirations, coming off senior season in which he finished fourth at FAU with 52 tackles, including 1.5 sacks.

A native of London, Ogbonda committed to FAU back when Howard Schnellenberger was still the Owls’ head coach. He never played for the legendary program founder, however, because Schnellenberger announced his retirement prior to the start of the 2011 season, effective at the end of the season.

A fifth-year senior, Ogbonda already has completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology and is working toward a Master’s in health administration.

FAU completed its season on Saturday with a 77-56 loss at Middle Tennessee, the Owls’ third consecutive 3-9 season.
