MONROE, La. — FAU brought its passing game to Louisiana and paired it with its strongest rushing performance of the season.
The Owls piled up 567 yards of total offense in a 45–17 victory over ULM at Malone Stadium, improving to 3–1 with their third consecutive win.
Ethan Ervin led the ground attack with 139 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Florida Atlantic finished with 234 rushing yards, giving its offense a dependable complement to Caden Veltkamp’s work through the air.
Veltkamp completed 29 of 38 passes for 314 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Dominique Henry caught both scoring throws, finishing with eight receptions for 116 yards. Kelby Valsin added nine catches for 123 yards.
AJ Johnson opened the scoring with an eight-yard touchdown run from a direct snap on fourth down. After ULM tied the game, FAU seized control with a 28-point second quarter.
Henry’s 26-yard touchdown reception put the Owls back ahead. Easton Messer then supplied the game’s biggest special-teams play, returning a punt 73 yards for a touchdown. Rushing scores by Ervin and Leonard Farrow helped establish a 35–17 halftime lead.
FAU’s defense closed the door after the break, holding the Warhawks scoreless over the final two quarters. Henry added a 36-yard touchdown reception, and Collin Rogers finished the scoring with a 29-yard field goal.
The Owls held ULM to 54 rushing yards and played a third consecutive game without committing a turnover.
The victory marked FAU’s first three-game winning streak since 2020 and its first nonconference road win since 2019. More immediately, it showed an offense capable of sustaining drives and generating explosive plays in multiple ways.
