  • Coin toss. Canes win and defer. 86 degrees at KO. FAU looking to start 2-0 and upset the nationally-ranked Canes. Let’s do this. #FindAWay
  • Kerrith Whyte to the Owls’ 38 where Jason Driskel will start it off for FAU. First play is a completion to Tyler Cameron.
  • Driskel to Kalib Woods. Fourth and one and FAU will go for it…Buddy Howell gets it! FAU carrying some momentum from last week over.
  • Back to back false starts for the Owls results in a 3rd and 26. O-line played so well last week so this is surprise. FAU now will punt.
  • We have a blocked punt that puts UM at their 49. FAU now on defense looking to carry over last week’s second-half success.
  • That’s a major gain for the Canes thanks to a 46 yard passing play to Njoku. FAU now trying to protect their red zone and limit Canes…
  • FAU with a blocked kick!!! WOW! Trey Hendrickson with blocked kicks in back to back games! #FirstRoundTalent #Stud
  • Driskel with an intended pass to Tyler Cameron who gets destroyed by a Canes defender. Miami clearly steaming at FAU after the blocked FG.
  • So remember that Miami is steaming part? Canes are probably doublely (?) angry after a Nate Ozdemir pick for FAU! #FindAWay
  • Starting right tackle Kelly Parfitt has left the field under his own power. This is a huge loss for the Owls. Another FAU O-Line injury..
  • Antonyo Woods is now the starting RT. Jakobi Smith will do replacement duty at guard. FAU’s injury bug continues as Owls now have to punt.
  • FAU with another nice defensive go. You can tell @CoachRoc really talked his guys up this week. They look motivated so far in first.
  • Driskel completes another pass but ANOTHER penalty on the O-Line. This one on Tarrick Thomas. 3rd and 20 for Owls.
  • Schomp gets kick off but gets absolutely drilled on play. FAU’s offense will remain on the field and take over at their 46.
  • Jason Driskel is down and jogs off the field. That is a scary moment for FAU and their starting QB. We’ll update you on any news.
  • The good news if you’re an FAU fan? Miami is scoreless at the end of one. The bad news? So are the Owls. #FindAWay
  • Here’s some positive news for FAU. Owls tackle Reggie Bain, out indefinitely after a recent off-field injury, is with Owls on sideline.
  • Driskel tries to find Tyler Cameron, but strong defensive battle between both teams continues. Rushing game (-3 in first) needs to get going
  • Another punt incoming with 10:10 left in the second. Miami takes over at FAU’s 39 yard line so they could be in FG range soon..
  • Miami at FAU’s goal line…not. Another holding call means Miami is only at FAU’s 19. Another penalty.
  • In other news, Florida is hot
  • Miami with a near touchdown on second down. but pass falls incomplete They then score from a Mark Walton rushing touchdown. 7-0 Canes.
  • Here’s the one positive to take away from UM scoring. FAU fought all drive. This wasn’t a one play drive. Canes really had to try to score..
  • Another o-line penalty. This one on Antonyo Woods. And yet FAU still is driving despite…nope, another penalty on FAU’s o line.
  • FAU with an interception! Andrew Soroh with a pick that is now under review. Looked clean from press box, FWIW. Would be a major play if so.
  • Interception held up. FAU takes over at Miami’s 26 and Driskel throws out of bounds on the first play. Might be a good time for Jay Warren..
  • FAU’s offense gets nothing done that drive. Owls will kick from the 21…Greg Joseph’s kick is easy like Sunday Morning. 7-3 Canes.
  • Miami is driving downfield with ease, almost like it’s natural. We have a play under review but FAU’s defense needs to make something happen
  • Mark Walton with a rush that takes him to 2 yard line. After a Canes timeout, Walton takes it in.14-3. FAU has 1:37 to respond before half.
  • That Soroh no-fumble recovery could really come back to hurt FAU. Owls need to go 70 yards for TD in a minute and a half down 11.
  • We’re at halftime and FAU is still in this one as the Canes lead 14-3. Canes will start 3rd with the ball. What are your takeaways so far?
  • We are back from Miami Gardens. Brief halftime drizzle but no lightning delays (yet). Azeez Al-Shaair back in for Owls.
  • Mark Walton rushes for some more Miami Hurricanes…
  • Crowd: First Down!
  • This kid is good. Putting on a show against Owls defense.
  • You have to give the Owls credit. Miami kept driving and FAU holds them to just a field goal. 17-3 Canes with 10:00 left in the third.
  • Driskel is not looking sharp. Some of that is on o-line, but you have to wonder if Partridge may think about bringing Parr in.
  • Canes INT…
  • Update from sidelines: Kelly Parfitt on sidelines for FAU.
  • Attendance tonight in Miami. 57,123. Nearly every part of the stadium aside from right above Miami tunnel looks full.

  • HIS NAME IS BUDDY NOT BUDDIE. @GregoryCG8 WITH A WAKE-EM-UP TOUCHDOWN AND FAU IS RIGHT BACK IN THIS. 38 YARDS TO THE HOUSE. 23-10 score.
  • Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but a defensive stop or even a turnover for FAU could really change the momentum here..
  • Well, they got the stop. Miami has to punt from their own 47 and the Owls, starting at their own 1, have a chance to get back in this game.
  • It’s raining, it’s pouring, FAU isn’t snoring. Driskel completes a first-down pass to Kalib Woods and we are through three quarters!
  • So here’s the story: 15 minutes to get 14 points and hold a finally-active offense back so you can win. FAU has the talent to do it.
  • Fourth and five. FAU looks like they’re going for it. We like the call. What happens? Incomplete pass to Kalib Woods. Big moment.
  • Mark Walton with a counter rushing touchdown that may be the dagger. Intended rush to one side and he ran around to the other. Four TDs.
  • We’re under 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter and we may be seeing Daniel Parr, Motor Singletary, and friends come in soon for FAU.
  • FAU is driving with less than six minutes left. At this point, you’re playing for pride and something to build on in practice this week.
  • Miami recovers a fumble with 2:18 left. Canes now trying to run up the score in what’s already a 21 point game. To victor goes the spoils..
  • Canes score. Joe Yearby with a short touchdown and it’s 38-10 with a minute left. 24 points given up by FAU in second half..
  • Daniel Parr comes in for the final snaps, but FAU loses a sobering one. 38-10 loss for the 1-1 Owls. That’s all from Miami Gardens.
