The Owls now know all of their opponents for next season.
Conference USA teams play every team in their division and two teams in their opposing division for a total of eight conference games.
The Owls defeated both teams in their only meetings with the West Division foes in conference play. FAU downed UTSA 41-37 in 2014 at home. Florida Atlantic defeated Southern Miss 41-7 in Hattiesburg during the 2013 season.
Southern Miss won its season finale in 2018 to become bowl eligible, but the Golden Eagles didn’t receive a bowl bid.
Two of the Roadrunners three wins in 2018 came against conference foes.
Games against Southern Miss and UTSA appear to represent a bit of a scheduling break for the Owls. In 2018 FAU traveled to North Texas and hosted Louisiana Tech – two teams heading to bowls. FAU lost both of those games.
FAU will open 2019 at Ohio St., followed by a home game against UCF. The Owls will follow the game with the Knights by traveling to Ball St. to complete a home-and-home series, then welcome Wagner to Howard Schnellenberger Field before entering C-USA play.
Within their division, FAU will host games against FIU, Middle Tennessee and Marshall. The Owls will travel to Western Kentucky, Old Dominion and Charlotte.
