BOCA RATON – Marshall snapped Florida Atlantic’s four-game winning streak last weekend, but that doesn’t mean the Owls can’t still have a successful season.

Heck, that loss doesn’t even preclude the Owls from appearing in the Conference USA title game.

It did, however, make the task significantly more difficult.

Does FAU have what it takes to rebound from that disappointing loss to Marshall and make a run at the C-USA title? That’s only one of the topics discussed on this week’s OwlTalk with Brian Rowitz.

Also this week Rowitz, of ESPN West Palm fame, and our Chuck King delve into some of the bizarre aspects of the week. How bad were those officials in the Marshall game? Did Lane Kiffin deserve to be fined by Conference USA for his tweet depicting blind refs? How well did Kiffin handle news of the fine?

The duo also tackles the news that defensive line coach Lance Thompson committed a violation that landed him a suspension and his former school, South Carolina, on probation. Is this a big deal for FAU? How will it affect upcoming recruiting efforts?

There’s also a look ahead to Saturday’s contest at Old Dominion, a team that only one week ago was proclaimed to be the best 1-5 team in the nation by its coach, Bobby Wilder. With a loss at UAB last week, is ODU now the best 1-6 team in the nation? It’s either the Monarchs, Rutgers, UConn, South Alabama or UMass.

So give OwlTalk, the first and still finest FAU football podcast, a listen. It will make you a better fan.
