It’s Shula Bowl week, and FAU fans know what that means.

The rematch FAU fans waited for is almost here – and there is much more on the line than most anyone would have cared to imagine. FAU and FIU meet on Saturday in the Shula Bowl XVI. If FAU wins, the Owls will head to their first ever Conference USA championship game, which they will host at Howard Schnellenberger Field. They will also remain perfect in C-USA play. Should FIU win, the Panthers will have a chance to beat out FAU in the East Division and claim that title game berth.

What does FAU need to do to bring the Shula Bowl trophy back to Boca Raton? Did anyone really think FAU could be in this position so quickly after hiring Lane Kiffin as coach? And what does Kiffin’s future hold if the Owls win the Conference USA title.

This week on OwlTalk, the first and still finest FAU football podcast, host Brian Rowitz of ESPN West Palm and our Chuck King discuss those questions and more.

We also take a look back at FAU’s 48-23 victory over Louisiana Tech – a game highlighted by the stellar play of quarterback Jason Driskel and running back Devin Singletary, and also featured the program’s first kickoff return for a touchdown – a 98-yarder by Kerrith Whyte.

So take 10 or so minutes out of your busy schedule to get ready for the Shula Bowl. Trust us, the OwlTalk Football podcast is the best thing you’ll put in your ears all week.
