BOCA RATON – Former FAU defensive tackle Brandin Bryant, now with the New York Jets, was one of the handful of former Owls now playing professionally who attended Florida Atlantic’s Pro Day on Thursday.
Bryant, a communications major, would like to explore a career in sports media once his playing days are complete.
We decided to give him a little taste of what might be in store for him.
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson, the FAU career sack leader, stands to be selected on the second day of the 2017 NFL Draft next month.
Bryant, who went undrafted last year before signing as a free agent first with the Seattle Seahawks and then with the Jets, has been through the process before – at least parts of it.
In this interview they discuss the similarities and differences of their paths to the NFL and look back about what it meant to be together at FAU.
The first FAU defensive lineman ever to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine, Hendrickson let his times from those events stand on Thursday, but did 18 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. Hendrickson also took part in all the defensive line drills.
Hendrickson is the guest in the pilot episode of Trench Talk with Brandin Bryant.
Enjoy the video. We think you’ll agree, Brandin Bryant has a future in this business.
