BOCA RATON – There’s much to like about FAU football at the moment.
The Owls are riding a four game winning streak, having defeated MTSU 28-13 on Saturday to move to 2-0 in Conference USA play.
The defense is forcing turnovers. The offense is scoring points. Overall, the Owls appear to be a favorite to win Conference USA’s East Division.
So what should FAU fans make of this team?
That’s one of the major topics covered in this week’s OwlTalk with Brian Rowitz, the first and still finest FAU football podcast.
Rowitz, of ESPN West Palm fame, and our Chuck King discuss what can be gleaned from the first half of the 2019 FAU football season, paying particular attention to Saturday’s victory over Marshall.
The duo examines the defensive improvements, particularly the Owls’ recent penchant for forcing turnovers.
They also delve into whether Saturday’s offensive struggles represent a setback or were a mere blip on that can be easily fixed.
Finally, how important is Friday night’s game against Marshall for Lane Kiffin and the Owls? Will the winner ultimately represent the East in Conference USA’s championship game?
Answers to all those questions and more can be found on OwlTalk. Give it a listen. Doing so will make you a better fan.
