BOCA RATON – OwlTalk, the first and still finest FAU football podcast, returns with a special Willie Taggart edition.
FAU introduced the former FSU and USF coach as its new head man on Thursday. Both host Brian Rowitz of ESPN West Palm and our Chuck King attended the event, recording this podcast within FAU stadium following the ceremony.
Is Willie Taggart the right coach to lead FAU? What can FAU fans expect from Taggart teams? Should FAU fans be upset that thee Owls are getting a Seminole retread?
There’s plenty to discuss about the Owls’ new football coach.
Keep in mind that Taggart has a long history of rebuilding programs, specifically Western Kentucky and South Florida.
Taggart is the third consecutive FAU coach known for his recruiting, following Charlie Partridge and Lane Kiffin, who left FAU last week to become the head coach at Mississippi.
Can Taggart’s ability to recruit help the Owls maintain their status as one of the top programs in Conference USA? Rowitz and King discuss that question, too.
And let’s not forget that FAU still has a football game to play. The Owls learned on Sunday that they’re staying home to face SMU in the Boca Raton Bowl. Is that good for FAU? And how will the Owls respond to their lone game under interim coach Glenn Spencer, the Owls defensive coordinator.
So many FAU-football related questions. OwlTalk does its best to do so.
Give OwlTalk a listen. It will make you a better fan.
