Big Comeback

Florida Atlantic overcame a 17-point first-half deficit to defeat Charlotte 77-75 in North Carolina.

The victory gives the Owls their second two-game winning streak of the season.

FAU trailed by four at the half but saw the 49ers lead balloon to 11 before mounting a comeback.

The Owls took their first lead of the game when an Adonis Filer lay-up put FAU up 57-56. FAU took the lead for good on a Justin Massey three-pointer with 8:25 remaining.

Florida Atlantic led by as much as seven in the second half.

Five Owls scored in double figures, led by Jailyn Ingram’s 17 points.

Moving Forward: Ingram made 7-of-10 shots from the field on his way to those 17 points. He also didn’t foul out – so there’s that. …Jeantal Cylla managed only two points in 11 minutes of play. …Frank Booker missed all five of his three-point attempts. …As a team FAU shot 4-of-18 from behind the arc.

Key Stat: 10 – offensive rebounds for FAU, who out-rebounded Charlotte 40-36.
