THE LIST: FAU 2017 Commits
BOCA RATON – The commitments are starting to come in from FAU football’s second major recruiting weekend under Lane Kiffin.
The first from this Sunday: Contra Costa College (Calif.) defensive back Rodney Washington. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound Washington reportedly had offers from Northern Colorado and Youngstown St.
“FAU has all the tools to be a Top 25 team in the next 2 years,” Washington wrote to OwlAccess.com.
Washington becomes the 14th member of FAU’s 2017 recruiting class. He’s the fourth player to come from junior college and the second from California.
Under former coach Charlie Partridge FAU had been expecting to sign about 18 players this season. New coach Lane Kiffin would not commit to a firm number – or even a ballpark number – of signees on Friday.
FAU will hold one more recruiting weekend before the Feb. 1 National Signing Day.
