BOCA RATON – FAU defensive end Damian Horton undoubtedly turned in the biggest play of Tuesday’s FAU football practice, leaping to snag a Jeff Driskel pass behind the line of scrimmage, then taking it to the end zone, where he was mobbed by defensive teammates.
We did get a photo of the play – thought it’s not the best – but when a defensive end makes a play like that it needs to be in the photo gallery. So big No. 55, here’s some photographic proof to show your friends.
Afterward coach Lane Kiffin continued his recent praise of Horton.
“He’s done a really good job – a guy that stood out right from the beginning in drills,” Kiffin said.
Now it appears Horton’s success in drills is translating into success in scrimmage situations. He’ll be worth watching in Saturday’s spring game.
Today’s photo gallery is unusual in that two photographers combined to take the shots. Midway through practice Karla DeVivo grabbed the camera and started snapping away. Astute readers will remember that DeVivo took the photo of Kamrin Solomon’s dis-allowed Hail Mary catch last season. She’s got some skills.
