UPDATED: Edited to clarify that FAU coach Lane Kiffin said he hadn’t seen the whole video of the incident alleged in this story.
BOCA RATON – Suspended wide receiver Kamrin Solomon is back with the Owls.
Solomon practiced with the FAU for the first time this fall during Saturday’s scrimmage.
FAU had issued a No Trespass order against Solomon, barring him from campus, for his alleged role in a fight at an off-campus banquet hall in January that led to the arrest of fellow wide receiver Kalib Woods on two counts of felony battery.
Solomon was not arrested.
“He’s gone through the university system,” Kiffin said of Solomon. “They’ve disciplined him. We fully support that. But with all of our discipline with our players, that’s internal. We don’t make that public.”
Athletic director Pat Chun and university president Dr. John Kelly declined to comment on Solomon. FAU did not make Solomon available for comment.
Video of the incident (below) at The Venue in suburban Boca Raton appears to show a shirtless Solomon punching and stomping an FAU student while that student was on the ground.
Kiffin said he has not watched the whole video, but he had heard about it.
Two students were hospitalized following the incident.
In the police report the victims identify Woods as one attacker but said they didn’t recognize any one else.
Solomon caught only 12 passes for 69 yards last year but he enjoyed a standout spring.
Though NCAA rules prohibit a player from wearing full pads until the fifth practice of camp, a padless Solomon participated in the scrimmage, wearing a black jersey that indicates to defenders that he was not to be hit.
Solomon caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Jason Driskel.
