FAU fans won’t have to wait much longer to see what their Owls look like under new head coach Lane Kiffin.
The first two Florida Atlantic spring football practices, held Tuesday and Thursday, will be open to the public, an FAU spokesperson said.
Those practices will be the first of four opportunities to see the FAU football team over the next five weeks.
For the second consecutive season FAU will hold a spring practice at Carter Park in Fort Lauderdale, doing so on April 8 at 1 p.m.
The Owls will also hold their spring game on April 22 beginning at 4 p.m.
The practices on Tuesday and Thursday will begin at 9:40 and will last about two hours. FAU players will not be wearing pads on those days in compliance with NCAA regulations.
Beginning on Tuesday, FAU will practice every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through April 22.
FAU hired Lane Kiffin, at the time Alabama’s offensive coordinator, in December to replace Charlie Partridge. Formerly the coach at Tennessee, USC and the NFL’s Oakland Raiders, Kiffin remained with the Crimson Tide for their NCAA playoff semifinal win over Washington but was let go by Nick Saban prior to Alabama’s loss to Clemson in the title game.
Kiffin brought in his brother Chris to coordinate the defense and hired Baylor offensive coordinator Kendal Briles for the same position at FAU.
FAU posted 3-9 records in each of the past three seasons, all with Partridge at the helm.
