Another DL Commit

BOCA RATON – There is another FAU commitment, but he isn’t a player who visited this weekend.

Orlando-Oakridge defensive end Connor Parks visited two weekends ago and says he committed to the Owls during that trip.

“I like the coaching staff and it feels like home,” Parks said. “Coach Lane [Kiffin] is doing something new, something different – a winning system.”

At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, Parks recorded nine sacks, 52 tackles and forced two fumbles as a senior.

He holds a host of offers, including from Pitt, Illinois and Missouri. He doesn’t plan, however, on taking any more official visits.

“I’ve got my decision,” Parks said. “That’s where I want to be.”

Parks is the fourth defensive lineman to commit to FAU’s 2018 recruiting class. Defensive end Franklin Jackson and defensive tackle Charles Cameron signed with the Owls in December. Like Parks, Jaylen Joyner plans to sign with the Owls on February’s National Signing Day.

As far as this weekend’s official visitor go, FAU attempted to beef up its offensive line.

Arizona Western center Zack Bennett enjoyed his visit so much he committed on Friday, hours into his official visit.

Jacksonville-Sandalwood’s Jordan Miller hadn’t drawn much attention before his visit to FAU became public. Since then Virginia, Gerogia Tech and Maryland have come calling.

A defensive lineman as a senior, Miller said the Owls view him as an offensive lineman.

“It went great,” Miller said of the visit. “I like the players, coaches, the environment.”

Miller intends to wait until Signing Day to announce his decision. Fellow visitor Dooly County (Ga.) offensive lineman Travis Glover could do the same.

A 6-foot-5, 318-pound tackle who can also play guard, Glover said he enjoyed “Hanging with the players, [strength] coach [Wilson] Love and his high energy, and putting on the jersey.”

Glover plans to visit UCF and Colorado St. in the coming weeks. He’s already visited Georgia St.

FAU brought the three offensive linemen to campus despite the Owls not having an offensive line coach.

Some players found that a little strange, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

“A little, bit but not that weird,” Glover said.

Visitor said that they were told the Owls will have an offensive line coach in place next week.
