Talk and be Herd

BOCA RATON – Coming off a bye week FAU begins the second half of its season on Saturday at Marshall.

The Thundering Herd have long been considered the class of Conference USA, and they are once again contending for a spot in the C-USA championship game.

For FAU to keep its championship hopes alive the Owls will have to win in Huntington, W. Va., something they’ve never done.

What does FAU need to do to notch its first victory at Marshall? Another big game from running back Devin Singletary would be a good start, but a strong performance from redshirt freshman starting quarterback Chris Robison is also a must.

Can Robison deliver? That’s one of the topics covered on this week’s OwlTalk with Brian Rowitz – the first and still finest FAU football podcast.

This week Rowitz, of ESPN West Palm and our Chuck King examine what coach Lane Kiffin and the Owls did during their bye week and how that approach should help them prepare for the Thundering Herd.

The duo also examines the state of the Conference USA race. FAU’s chances of a repeat appearance in the C-USA title game received a major boost last weekend when FIU handed MTSU its first loss in C-USA play. The Blue Raiders previously defeated FAU, so the Owls still need MTSU to drop at least one more game, but suddenly that seems possible.

Rowitz and King also examine the strengths and weaknesses of Marshall, including a dive into the Thundering Herd’s injury issues and how they will affect the contest.

So go ahead and give OwlTalk a listen. It’s a great way to start your Thursday, and it will make you a better fan come Saturday.
