BOCA RATON – FAU reached the midpoint of its season with mixed results.

Six games into the season the Owls find themselves with the same record they had last season, but because of the loss two weeks ago at MTSU they aren’t nearly as well positioned in Conference USA.

FAU did, however, enter this week’s bye with momentum, having defeated ODU 52-33 on Saturday. The Owls weren’t flawless in that contest, but they did play their most complete game offensively, defensively and even on special teams.

So what do we make of that game and what the Owls have accomplished thus far this season? Those are two topics we discuss on the latest installment of OwlTalk with Brian Rowitz, the first and still finest FAU football podcast. And this week the podcast has a little extra juice behind it.

Rowitz, of ESPN West Palm fame, and our Chuck King are joined by OwlAccess.com writer Wajih AlBaroudi. Fans will be impressed by the depth of knowledge and analysis the former collegiate offensive lineman brings to the podcast.

With no game this week, the trio delves into their expectations for FAU moving forward, including potential breakout players and potential speed bumps in the season’s second half.

Six games into last season the Owls held a 3-3 record. They proceeded to win eight more games, claiming the C-USA title in the process. Can the Owls repeat under Lane Kiffin? Is quarterback Chris Robison going to continue to develop? And what can fans expect from the running back tandem of Devin Singletary and Kerrith Whyte moving forward?

All of those topics and more addressed on this week’s OwlTalk. FAU football does not play a game this week, but on OwlTalk we’re preparing as though it’s game day.
