FAU concluded its non-conference slate on Saturday with a 95-60 road loss to Minnesota.

The Owls couldn’t overcome a first-half scoring drought of nearly six minutes during which the Gophers extended what was a 10-7 lead to 28-7.

FAU trailed by 22 at the half and never managed to cut the lead to less than 20.

Gerdarius Troutman led FAU with 18 points. Ronald Delph was right behind him with 17.

After winning four consecutive games, two against NAIA teams, FAU will enter Conference USA play losers of three straight.

Moving Forward: Troutman had five assists to go with his 18 points. …Jailyn Ingram scored 12 points, snatched five rebounds and doled out four assists.

Moving Backward: Point guard Anthony Adger managed only two points and one assist despite playing 30 minutes. His only points came at the free-throw line. …Williams Pfister fouled out after scoring only two points. He did grab five rebounds. The Gophers out-rebounded FAU 45-31. …Guard Payton Hulsey missed his second consecutive game with an ankle injury.

Key Stat: 34.8 – percent shooting for FAU. Minnesota shot 54.7 percent.
