Talking Cookman

BOCA RATON – No team in college football has experienced the kind of start to the season that FAU has.

The Owls experienced nearly three hours worth of weather delays in a season-opening loss to Navy, and then escaped Hurricane Irma by flying to Wisconsin to collect a $1.2 million payday, along with another loss.

By traveling to that game, FAU found itself stuck in Wisconsin until Wednesday evening. How will the strange couple of weeks affect the Owls on Saturday against Bethune-Cookman? That’s one of the questions we tackle in this week’s OwlTalk podcast, hosted by ESPN West Palm’s Brian Rowitz.

We also examine the emergence of wide receiver DeAndre McNeal as a big play threat, the at times admirable play on defense against Wisconsin and what it will take to get FAU’s offense rolling.

For those FAU fans still digging their way out of Hurricane Irma damage, hopefully listening to OwlTalk will provide a nice break.

Saturday’s game against Bethune-Cookman is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
