Road Rebound

Ten different FAU players scored runs while four hurlers combined on a shutout to help the Owls snap a season-long four-game losing streak with a 10-0 victory over Texas-San Antonio.

Junior Mark Nowatnick allowed four hits and walked two over five innings in only the second start of his career to earn the victory, improving to 5-0 on the season.

Esteban Puerta’s two-run double down the left field line gave the Owls a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

The score stayed that way until seventh when FAU plated four more runs. Eric Rivera’s two run single was the big hit in the frame.

The Owls added two more runs in each of the final two innings.

FAU’s 10-run outburst came one day after UTSA blanked the Owls 6-0. The Roadrunners took two of three games from the Owls over the weekend, handing FAU its first weekend series loss of the season.

Losing two of three dropped the Owls into a three-way tie for second place with Old Dominion and Charlotte in Conference USA play, one game behind Southern Miss.
