FAU baseball returned the favor for Illinois’ blow out win on Saturday be delivering a beat down of its own one day later.

The Owls defeated Illinois 16-2 to take the weekend series 2-1.

Freshman Eric Rivera got the Owls started with his first career homer, part of a three-run first.

FAU led 7-0 before Illinois broke through with a single run in the fourth. The Owls countered with two in the bottom of the inning and five more in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
