One of FAU's top recruits visits campus

Florida Atlantic brought in some of its top recruits for an individual camp earlier this week and at least one prospect left Boca Raton with a good impression of the Owls program.

Gainesville receiver Chris Thompson, believed to be one of the Owls' top recruits, said he enjoyed the camp.

“It was nice and a real nice campus,” Thompson said. “It was a real nice stadium. We went all the way to the top where you could see the ocean and everything.”

In addition to FAU, Thompson has offers from UMass, Marshall and Utah, he said.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Thompson has also gone to Florida's camp and is being recruited by the Gators. Thompson also attended a camp at FIU.

Thompson likes FAU's proximity to Gainesville.

“They would have to be one of the top, being in Florida,"  Thompson said of the Owls. "It's close to home."
