FAU’s athletic budget may increase 26 percent for 2012-13

FAU’s Board of Trustees will be asked  to approve $22.9 million in expenses for its 2012-13 athletic department budget during today’s scheduled meeting.

The budget is growing by more than $5.4 million over last year’s budget – an increase of 25.9 percent.

The biggest increased expense for the athletic department budget is a $2.6 million debt service payment on the new stadium.

The athletic department will benefit from a five percent increase in the student athletic fee to $17.27 per credit hour. which has already been approved.
