McCormack thanks FAU baseball’s loyal fans
By Marcus Nelson
First and foremost, Happy Memorial Day to everyone. Please take a moment to remember what this day is about.
On another note, at the end of a discussion with FAU baseball coach John McCormack on Sunday, he made sure he relayed a message to Owl Nation.
"I just want to thank all the fans," McCormack said. "I appreciate the support and so do the players. The guys love when they are cheerig them on."
The baseball program probably has the most dedicated fans of any of the sports teams at FAU. They have to endure an outdated stadium and non-existent restroom facilities, but they keep showing up.
When McCormack said the players appreciate the support, he wasn’t just pandering. I believe the players, whose patience also is pushed to the limit by the condition of FAU Stadium, bond with their fans in sort of a “we’re in this together” sort of way.
With another Sun Belt Conference championship under its belt, we can hope that more will be done for the fans and players of FAU’s baseball program. But I’m not holding my breath.
