Tuesday's Daily Briefing: Beer will be flowing at FAU-Miami game
By Marcus Nelson
It didn’t take long for the baseball season to get going.
Fresh off a three-game sweep of Hofstra in the season-opening series over the weekend, FAU will play two big games the next two days by facing Florida at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday and playing host to Miami on Wednesday back on campus.
The Owls will be returning to Jupiter, where they have played the St. Louis Cardinals in the past, to face the Gators, ranked No. 1 in some polls, and a good crowd will likely be on hand.
For those who can’t make it to Jupiter, I did see something interesting planned for the UM game. For 25 bucks (or cheaper for FAU National Alumni Association members or baseball season ticket holders) fans can party on the berm and eat hamburgers, hot dogs and drink soda and beer.
And yes, you did read that correctly – that includes beer. If I wasn’t working for FAUOwlAccess.com that night, I know where I would be.
One disclaimer should be on there, however.
Since the ballpark renovations that were promised last season never materlialized, the beer drinkers should be warned - there are no permanent bathrooms at FAU Stadium.
That said, if your bladder can take the long walk to the lockerooms at the field house, it’s a great deal.
