BOCA RATON – Florida Atlantic will experience a program first on Saturday, and hopes to achieve second first later that night when UCF comes to Boca Raton.

Ranked No, 18, UCF will become the first ranked program ever to visit Howard Schnellenberger Field to play FAU. Should the Owls, more than a touchdown underdog, defeat the Knights, it would mark the program’s first-ever victory over a Top 25 team.

With that possibility in mind, we enter 2019’s second edition of OwlTalk with Brian Rowitz, the first and still finest FAU football podcast.

First, though, Rowitz and our Chuck King take a look back at the season-opening loss at No. 5 Ohio St. Is it proper to consider that game, one in which the Owls found themselves down 28-0 less than 10 minutes after kickoff, a moral victory? And how will FAU deal with the loss of running back BJ Emmons, likely for the season, to a broken ankle?

The duo also focuses on the latest Owls to make NFL rosters – hello Devin Singletary, Kerrith Whyte and Azeez Al-Shaair – before turning their full attention to Saturday’s UCF game.

Rowitz and King are both looking forward to seeing the atmosphere prior to kickoff on Saturday, hoping FAU can replicate the excitement that accompanied the 2015 game against the University of Miami. They also delve into what FAU needs to do to defeat UCF for the first time in three tries.

Can Lane Kiffin and FAU end UCF’s 23-game regular-season winning streak? We’ll, you’ll have to listen to OwlTalk to find out. Doing so will be worth your while.
