Defending Sun Belt Conference champion Florida Atlantic will face five teams which made it to NCAA Regionals and have 40 of its 55 games in the state of Florida this season
FAU officially announced its 2013 baseball schedule on Monday, which opens on Feb. 15 against Cincinnati. The Owls have a seven-game homestand to open the season against the Bearcats, a game against Miami and a three game-series vs. Alabama.
Besides Miami, the Owls will face NCAA-Regional participants Louisiana-Monroe, Florida, Coastal Carolina and Central Florida.
Other schedule highlights include:
- FAU faces FIU in a three-game series on March 15-17 in Boca Raton and on May 16-18 in Miami. It will be the last time the Owls and Panthers meet as Sun Belt rivals, but may face each other as non-conference rivals even after FIU moves to Conference USA.
- After the Owls play host to the Hurricanes on Feb. 20, they will face Miami twice in Coral Gables on March 27 and on April 24.
- FAU travels to Gainesville to face Florida on May 7. It was hoped by many that the Gators would play the Owls at Roger Dean Stadium like they did for a well-attended game in 2011.
