Hoops schedule is out

FAU has officially released its 2012-13 schedule featuring games at North Carolina and Indiana.

Florida Atlantic’s 2012-13 basketball schedule has been released and features games at North Carolina, Indiana and Mississippi State.

The Owls have 14 homes games including non-conference game vs. American, in the home-opener on Nov. 24, and Hofstra.

The Sun Belt Conference slate features 20 games, up from 16 last season.

FAU will also play an exhibition game  vs. Lynn University on Nov. 5 at The Burrow at 7 p.m.

Three games to not miss

Nov. 11 at North Carolina
The Owls open the season at Chapel Hill, where they have only played once before (a 105-52 loss in 2006)

Feb. 14 vs. Western Kentucky
The Hilltoppers played in the NCAA Tournament last season and face FAU six years to the day after the Owls earned a early key Sun Belt victory over WKU in Bowling Green, Ky.

Mar. 2 vs. FIU
The annual Bury The Burrow in Red game closes out the regular season and could be the last time the Owls and Panthers meet after FIU joins Conference USA next season.
