Ohio State senior associate athletic director Pat Chun will be the next athletics director at Florida Atlantic, sources confirmed to Owl Access on Sunday night.
When reached by phone, Chun said he believed there would be a press conference possibly as early as Monday to make the announcement.
“We are going to have the opportunity to talk about it tomorrow,” said Chun, who is already in South Florida.
On Monday morning, FAU issued a media advisory for a 2 p.m. press conference to announce a new athletic director, but it did not mention Chun.
Chun (pictured) has been with Ohio State for 14 years and has held various positions including ones associated with “development, endowment building, strategic planning, management and leadership,” according to Ohio State University’s web site.
In his current role, Chun is in charge of "development, ticketing, fan experience and promotions, multi-media rights partnership (IMG College), communications, public relations and branding, creative services, merchandising, website, video, alumni relations, community relations, golf course, Big Ten Network, band and cheerleading," the web site states.
Owl Access reported earlier that Chun was among four candidates brought to campus and sources indicated that Chun recently had a second interview with FAU.
Chun will replace Craig Angelos, who was fired in March.
