BOCA RATON – FAU’s basketball team is headed to Hawaii and plays two of the most recognized Florida schools this season, the Owls’ newly-released 2016-17 shows.

FAU begins its season on Nov. 11 in the Aloha State at the Rainbow classic, where the Owls will play Texas St. and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville before meeting host Hawaii.

The Owls return from Hawaii for their home opener against NAIA Edward Waters on Nov. 20. Two days later South Florida pays a visit to The Burrow. FAU’s pre-conference slate also includes a Dec. 16 trip to face Miami.

Following the Hurricanes game, the Owls return to Boca Raton for a five-game home stand that opens on Dec. 21 against Webber International. Florida Gulf Coast follows before the Owls open their Conference USA slate by welcoming Western Kentucky for a New Years Eve tussle.

The home stand concludes on Jan. 7 against rival FIU.

FAU concludes its season with two conference road games, the first of which is a March 2 contest at UAB. The Owls return to Birmingham the following week for the C-USA Tournament.
