@gaowl

The practice schedule we posted is all they have set so far. And I'll bet you are correct - that's about 10 days out from the game and would be when the Wagner game prep would begin.

@Teambeer, that's hilarious!

@OWLS2012, no offense taken on the shirt.  Everything we have, someone will hate it, and someone will love it!!  If we only created stuff for 100% of the people to love, it would be like the old days when you couldn't find anything associated with FAU, anywhere.

We are going to keep doing what we do.  We will have to work a little harder and maybe we come up with something you do like.

Go Owls!!

re: the MGIII shirts,

Everybody is entitled to their opinion on them, but I already have heard people saying they want one and I expect in the next few days I'll see people wearing them.

I like T-shirts that are clever and show you know the team rather than just a shirt that says "FAU" on it.

But the bottom line is if you don't like the shirt, don't buy it.

Not worried about drops, ESPECIALLY on the first day of camp for ANY of the 40+ new guys on the roster! Nerves and some pressure too. Gotta learn new Coaches, teammates, plays and just a new tempo of practice to boot! And for receivers, a new way the ball is delivered to them (spin, speed, etc...). The good ones will settle in within a few days and come Monday they will start to shine as the cream always rises to the top!

@gaowl,

Without a doubt, nothing to be concerned about with him. Coaches are pretty high on him and they know much more than I do.

I'll have more on how the newcomers did and what Pelini thought of the first practice  in my daily report, which will be up soon.

 Does anyone know if they still plan on redesigning the jerseys for next year? I noticed in the picture of MGIII that they had on blue cleats instead of red, and some of the guys had all white helmets(did we always have those?)

@sjacks78

Players got all new practice gear today (defense now wears red practice jerseys).

Supposedly slightly different game uniforms could be on the way, but I havent seen any pictures of the new design.

I think the all white helmets you are referring to are ones that don't have a decal on them, but will by the first game.

I've posted my report and a blog about what Pelini, offensive coordinator Brian Wright and the Owls WRs thought about MGIII's first practice.

Since there was a good reception to today's informal Q&A, we'll do the same drill on Thursday and I'll spend some time answering questions during the practice while I'm at the Oxley Center.

It's not easy getting up at "dark-thirty" to make it to the start of practice and it's nice to see the readers of this site appreciate the hard work we do to bring you news and info and FAU athletics.

Thank you, Owl Nation for the great response today!

Day 2 at Camp Carl is underway.

During the early part of practice the media is allowed to watch, I did not see any new faces so there doesn't appear to be any change on Anderson, Burton and Glanton.

 I love seeing that pic of Martese too, I have class with him and we do our homework together so I have had a chance to know him personally. He is a really nice guy and I can tell he loves FAU. We always talk FAU football and he says he is gunning for the starting job.

Friday's practice is underway. It could be the last one that starts before dawn.

I hope so. It's not only painful to get up that early, but the sun isn't up enough to get a decent picture before the open part of the practice is over.

Sorry but practice schedule says Tuesday is at 6:30 too!  THAT is the last one. But thanks for the early moring pic of the day and for geting up and out there. LOTS of dew on the ground in those pics!

@gaowl,

There is talk that the Tuesday practice may be moved to later in the morning. Not official yet, but I have my fingers crossed.

There is lots of dew on the ground and once the sun heats up the grass, the dew burns off making it a sauna. I think morning practices are tougher on the players than going in the afternoon, even though it's hotter then.
