I don't want to sound un-caring, but scholarships are year to year and we are in a major transition period. The new kids coming in and the 2013 recruits are all part of this staffs plan. EVERYONE else has to work to keep their spot. I know that sounds cold, but it is the truth. I hope that each and every one of them succeeds at what ever they do and I hope that the FAU football team is better because of these moves.

Chuck, you did the reporting - Am I off base here?

Many of those are probably gone by their own decision or a mutual decision between player and coaching staff.

I would say very few were doing everything they were asked to do but were rebuffed by the staff.

I think we should sum it up as "this was was everyone's best interest."

The biggest factor in most cases was academics - and that happens every year. The number seems large, but its not that much bigger than in years past.

Some didn't make the grades. Some didn't put in the effort to make the grades.

There were also a couple who aren't going to be around for medical reasons.

This is by no means a player revolt. Some of them will resurface at other schools. Others will simply fade away. The

Only surprises to me were Bonani and Johnson. But ya gotta prooduce and ya gotta make the grades to be eligible and/or keep your scholly. I wonder, does this just bring us down to our scholly limit or do Coaches have room to add some late qualifiers from JUCOs and High Schools?

I hear the coaching staff tried to help some of these guys find a school to transfer to.

That is true. And the process isn't over yet. Bonani, for example, said he may end up at Missouri St. thanks to the help of coach Diersen. I believe they had a hand in helping Kane find his JUCO, too.

Good call Chuck,

Just saw on Twitter that Bonani has indeed transferred to Mizzou State and I wish him well
