Why? I really want to know why a third of this team is leaving. Something's not right.

 I'm glad you said it , because I was thinking the same thing. We need to get all sport teams in order. These negative stories are not good for the school. Coach Mac and the baseball team and now Coach P with the football team have their programs in order with  very little news. What is wrong in the burrow? 

Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan looked like a jerk yesterday because he is blocking players from transferring.

At least Jarvis lets his players leave - and in some cases may make a call on a players behalf to help him land somewhere.

If a player isnt happy, I trust Coach Jarvis to handle the situation correctly.

BTW, Mavin has surfaced at FIU of all places.

The Mavin tweet was discovered by someone on the Owl's Nest messageboard, not the UP.

I'm not sure I understand.

Mavin Tweeted he was going to FAU.

How does one "discover" a Tweet.

One "discovers" a tweet when it's almost an entire month old and no one has said anything about it until now. It went up on the Owl's Nest messageboard yesterday and the UP story went up several hours later.

 I know very little about the circumstances, but these days an athlete putting it out on Twitter or Facebook is really the same as announcing it himself. I would say that's what shoud be attributed. It's like an official announcemnet from that player.

I tend to believe a story more if it says "Mavin said on his Twitter account" rather than "it was 'discovered' on an internet message board." 

Just my 2 cents, but remember these are FAU students who work for the UP and I don't think we should be calling them out in public because of a tiny little thing like that.

I had no idea this would be such an issue.

I woke up this morning, saw an article written by the UP saying Mavin was headed to FIU (it's still the only article on this subject) and thought it would be of interest so I linked to it.

Does the average fan care who gets the credit of who saw Mavin's Tweet and when they saw it?  The Tweet is the source, so the UP correctly attributed the info to the Tweet!

Hell, we've been known to break a story or two every now and then - and we are rarely given credit, but I'm not going to go on an another message board and bitch and moan about it, because everyone usually knows who has the story first (at least our traffic seems to indicate that).
